Yes it does

It's exactly 4 feet eight and one half inches between two railroad rails. If you go back in history that is the same distance between the wheels on a Roman chariot.

If the rails spread more than that there is a good chance the train will drop between the rails with catastrophic results.

If the rails get closer the train will also jump the tracks.

Four feet eight and one half inches. Exactly.

Who says size doesn't matter.
