What is it about old things? We seem to hold a warm spot for old things. I admit it. I like old steam locomotives. They aren't energy efficient. They certanly aren't clean. Tell me one is on the tracks within a few miles of me and I'll try to find the time to go and see it.
We have museums full of old things.
I've got a pair of old shoes that should have met the bottom of a landfill ages ago. They are on my old feet as I write this. I keep them around promising myself that the next time they get muddy I'll toss them rather than clean them. My wife swears she might toss me first.
But there is something about old things. Maybe it's the fact that we don't have to welcome something new into our lives. Maybe it's just us saying no to change.
