Tracks

Monk Ki always wondered what it would be like riding in the cab of a locomotive. He never imagined he would have the opportunity. Granted it wasn't a steam locomotive. He wasn't in control but he watched the engineer and the track. They roared across the landscape.

Ahead he saw a signal.

"What does that mean?"

"The turnout has been switched. We will be going off the main. "

"Where?"

"The diverging route. The road less traveled." The engineer laughed and then spit out the window.

"The diverging route."

"Yeah, sometimes it's just time to go in another direction."

"Like now?" The engine rattled through the open turnout pulling the rest of the train. The engineer slowed a bit.

"Like now."
