Getting older

SAy what you want but there are moments when we can't help but reflect.

The morning paper reported that Syd Barrett has died. Syd who? Syd Barrett. He was a founder of Pink Floyd. I'm listening to "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" (it was written about him by the group after he left (both the group and some would say the world) as I write.

OK I'll admit it. I've listened to some of his songs. I've listened to some of his solo work. A good word to describe it might be muddy. But there was something about the man that inspired others. That should count for something.
